Anchor BMX

Cool stores ,team riders and rad jams!

Monday, May 10th, 2010

As i write some of the Australian United and FBM team are on their way home to Adelaide and Melbourne after heading up to the Redbull Dirt pipe in Mount Beauty Victoria. Kie Ashworth ,Ryan Lloyd  and Marko Maksimovic were all up there doing their thing. From all accounts it was more gnarly than the 2008 event and riders were shredding the living get out of the course. Expect to see full coverage in Focal Point and 2020 in their next issues.

Damon Andrews is a stalwart in the Lismore/Kempsey BMX scene and is a top notch guru of the finest order. Expect to see some of the FBM Oz team up there for his annual jam for sure! i wont be missing this one thats a given!

Leigh Giason is a great friend and an awesome rider whom we are lucky enough to call one of our own. Leigh rides for T1 through us and also runs a small boutique BMX shop in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood called The Anchor.   Leigh is a certified shredder and in between paying the bills and doing the day to day at the Anchor he also manages to find time to do swing shifts at the local bar also whilst still finding time to kill random pools and generally shred the gnar on the grimey streets of Melbs.

The Anchor- Hit them up for a deal on any of the last of the 2010 FBM Complete bikes left in stock!

More tomorow ,get outside and make the most of it before winter hits!

Broken Noses and being lifers...

Monday, October 26th, 2009

We are very proud to be associated with the  FBM Bike Company for so many reasons, BMX has exploded in popularity over the last few years again and there is so many BMX companies making products its hard to keep up. FBM has always prided themselves on making a small but functional range of products that cater to the needs of BMX riders from all walks of life. They made 8 pound frames(Angel of Death) in a time when frames were breaking left right and centre. They were making functional heavy duty sprockets when fat chains were the norm and riders were content to wear a hole in the frame from a motorbike chain rather than break the chain doing a sprocket disaster on a rail. They have sponsored some of the biggest names in the  sport like Aaron Ross , Cameron Wood and Tony Cardona and then lost the same riders to companies that had bigger payrolls. They have had there entire warehouse burnt to the ground and had to start again from scratch. They have had made video tapes( yes as in before dvds) that changed riders minds about there lives and BMX long before youtube beemed the latest tricks all around the world overnight. To put it bluntly FBM has changed the face of BMX forever, There constant love for BMX, travel and the good and bad times that come with it resonate with riders the whole world over. From the early days of AOD and Old Boy frames and Eyehategod songs in there vids to Modern Day Trail frames like the Steadfast and one of the most dialed looking complete bike ranges you are likely to see. FBM is in constant progression forward. Stowaway is proud to sponsor Peter Koh and Kie Ashworth with FBM in Australia and is proud to co sponsor Pat Oneil through Helensvale BMX on the Gold Coast. Kelvin Pentland through Backbone in Canberra and Lou Reeves through Anchor BMX in Melbourne.

FBM Pro and all round bad ass . Kie Ashworth sizey gap to icepick in Albany , New York. Kie was present on the FBM Wizards of Oz tour back in summer this year. You can peep his riding on the Wizards DVD that is out now all over the country. FBM is one company who is not letting the idea of having fun on your BMX fade. If you want to know what we got up to on that tour that has been all over the web of late do your self a favour and pick up this nice price double DVD from your local BMX shop today!

Wizards of Oz mania.......mang.
